Queen Elizabeth Hospital Barbados

Queen Elizabeth Hospital is 600 bed facility and this is the Barbados’ main trauma facility.  Also it has medical intensive care, neonatal intensive care, surgical intensive care, as well as dialysis units. The 24 hour emergency room is situated here.  QEH has on staff, physicians as well as surgeon consultants of all the specialties.  Compliment of the staff has also increased & includes some trained paramedics.  Emergency ambulance facility in Barbados is run by Queen Elizabeth Hospital & is called on in event of emergency.  The QEH ambulance crews co operate with Barbados Defence Force ambulance service if any mass casualty arise There are ten ambulances at QEH & 2 at BDF.  The ambulance crews are permitted to perform the CPR, and advanced cardiac support as well as administer IV’s..
