Olives Restaurant Barbados
Olive’s Bar and Bistro, located on the West Coast in Holetown, Barbados, provides its dinners with an intimate and friendly atmosphere. Nestled in a tiny house-like building, the restaurant specialises in fantastic Mediterranean and Caribbean cuisine – unlike many of the restaurants at your service in Barbados, this unique bar and bistro combo doesn’t offer a large selection of American, British, or Canadian cuisine, but rather it offers such home-style favourites with a Mediterranean and Caribbean twist. The cuisine is uniquely their own at Olive’s Bar and Bistro. The food and the mood inside the restaurant envelop you with the smell of warm curry and spice. You’ll experience a warming glow and the friendly and efficient staff provides service that adds comfort and a sense of belonging to the customer.
The casual, yet elegant environment is exciting as you walk through the door of the restaurant. You’ll be greeted by a welcoming smile every time and you’ll immediately feel as though you’ve been there a hundred times before. The rich essence of the superior food selection is key in this exceptional dining experience. Such a quality keeps Olive’s one of the west coast’s favourite dinner spots.
Try the Tiramisu and hot banana crepe as you finish your tasty prosciutto ham pizza, chilled gazpacho, or duck and chicken liver plate. The fettuccini is done right with a light olive oil sauce instead of the traditional cream sauce commonly found in international dishes. You’ll smile at the sweet and spicy taste of the tomato basil sauce poured over the perfect pasta.
The chicken breast that is rolled in a pecan and cracker crumb mix and then over baked and served with creamy mustard noodles, vegetables, and a sweet Moroccan tomato and raisin chutney – delicious! If you have time for two visits – or at least two meals – at this fun restaurant and bar, try the “Jerked” pork tenderloin done hot and spicy: served on oven roasted garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables – plus an interesting twist: a fried plantain in a light gravy! It really is as good as it sounds! Got time for just one more meal? Dig into the beef tenderloin steaks that are lightly peppered and grilled with béarnaise sauce and creamy leaks with scorched onions and crispy French fries.
Although there is no official children’s menu at the bar and bistro, you could easily ask for a smaller serving size or half portions; don’t forget that you can always share the generous portions you receive with the little ones!
You have the option to dine on the main floor restaurant where you’ll be accompanied by the soft sounds of light jazz music. Find your way to the courtyard where you can dine under the sun or stars; you’ll still be able to hear that wonderful jazz music playing in the background. Grab a friend and head upstairs to the popular bar where you can lounge over coffee and snacks such as pizza, pasta, and salad. You and a group can drink fancy cocktails and chat until the sun comes up at this comfortable alternative to the restaurant below.
