The Harbour Lights Nightclub in Barbados is one of the most entertaining shows you’ll experience while on your vacation to the entertainment capital on the island. This unique open-air nightclub is like no other you will encounter in Barbados. The entertainers and staff alike host amazing dinner extravaganza nights: on Friday’s you’ll love the “all you can drink” until 3 a.m. – if that’s your thing. A few nights a week requires a dress code to be met so be sure to call ahead or check the website for exact days – also, keep in mind that depending on the style of entertainment, the dress code, which is not stuffy and uncomfortable in any way, can change. You’ll have plenty of notice if you plan your night right.
You’ll need to book your seat in advance for any of the beach extravaganza events. All ages are welcome and the show runs from 7 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Dinner includes a juicy BBQ meal with roasted marshmallows for dessert! The music is great and the show is upbeat and entertaining. The kids will love the bright lights and music and the parents will enjoy the sophistication of the entertainment venue and setting. There’s just something about being outdoors, at night, under the stars, that makes even the best shows, better.
The nightlife in Barbados is alive and well at this favourite spot: it is a truly tropical evening….barefoot dancing in the sand is a unique experience in and of itself. The tantalizing and pulsating beat of a live calypso band and drinking tropical cocktails makes for a fun evening as well. You’ll feast on a sumptuous BBQ dinner, enjoying the best of local entertainment including exciting fire eating, limbo and Caribbean dancing. There are men walking around on stilts and the acrobatics of the agile Green Monkey and Shaggy Bear are something to see. If you think that’s a mouthful, you should see the show! It is filled with non-stop action and adventure. You will be captivated with every turn and twist, and be amazed at the skill at which the entertainers perform.
Since its opening in 1987, the club has welcomed thousands of visitors who have paid their fair at the door and enjoyed free drinks until the sun came up. Tourists love the atmosphere of the club because of its fast paced showcase and ever changing nightlife. If you plan to stay on the island for a long period of time, why not take in a second show. You’ll experience something different every night and you won’t be disappointed.
After the dinner show the nightclub remains open until the wee hours of the morning where you can drink your favourite cocktail and dance to the DJ until you’re ready to head back to your hotel. An added bonus is that the nightclub provides shuttle transfer to and from the local hotels. It helps when you don’t have to think about how you are getting home. Young adults travelling to the island on vacation appreciate the thoughtful gesture. Gratuities are appreciated although the shuttle drives are free.
