The bougainvillea cascades in multi-coloured blossoms from the balconies and gardens across the property. ) “The hotel was designed so that when you stand in the lobby and look down, you can see ( and hear ) the many waterfalls and pools, you can see the lush gardens and you can see the sea. “We wished to bring everything Caribbean to our guests in the 1st glance.” offers Sharon Hugh-White, selling and sales chief of the hotel.

Christ Church Parish – Found in Christ Church Parish on the southern coast of Barbados, just 5 miles from the airfield, the Bougainvillea Beach Resort commenced building in 1995 when sister hotel, The Sand Acres, situated next door, found the demand was so great that they were always sold out.

Each room or suite at The Bougainvillea has perspectives towards the sea, garden and pool area. Another thing I liked about this hotel is that it has made a promise to help to keep Barbados free from contaminants,eg cake soaps and cruel detergents. Awarded “The Green World Certification”, at the World Travel Market in London, Britain , in October 2001, the hotel also has “Green World Certified” employees on property who maintain their ecological commitment. The bedroom was furnished with a cushty kingsized bed, strong end tables, a double dresser, masses of closet space, and French doors that opened out to the garden below. The bathroom was bigger than my last office and provided with liquid soaps, shampoos and conditioners provided in dispensers on the wall. The fully-equipped kitchen, dining area and living room were decorated in relaxing peach, green and cream tones. The hotel’s namesake – bougainvillea – bloomed copiously every day, and from the balcony were perspectives of the sea, the pools, gardens and waterfalls. My man and I are not giant fans of aircon, so we chose for open doors. Warm wind circulated the perfumed night air ; the sound of surf washing against the shore, mingling with the light “tweet” of miniscule tree frogs sent us into a deep and peaceful sleep each night.
